Math Worksheet Generator
Free math worksheet generator for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Choose number ranges, print or download a PDF with a separate answer key.
The same seed code with the same settings always gives the same worksheet. Write it down to print the sheet again later.

How to make a math worksheet
- Under Operations, tick one or more of Addition (+), Subtraction (−), Multiplication (×) and Division (÷). When several are ticked, each problem picks one of them at random, so you get a mixed review sheet.
- Set the First number and Second number (divisor for ÷) ranges with From and To. Any whole number from 0 to 9,999 works: 0 to 10 for early addition facts, 10 to 99 for two-digit sums, 100 to 999 for three-digit column work.
- Choose the Number of problems (1 to 100) and the number of Columns (1 to 5).
- Pick a Layout: In a line (12 + 7 = ___) for mental math, or Stacked (column form) for written addition, subtraction and multiplication with carrying and borrowing. Division always stays on one line.
- Tick No negative results and Allow remainders in division as needed (see below).
- Type a Worksheet title, keep or remove Add Name and Date lines, and choose the Paper size.
- Check the Preview. Tick Show the answer key to see the answers on screen.
- Click Download PDF or Print. The worksheet comes first and the Answer key is always on a separate page, so you can hand out the problems and keep the answers.
Click New worksheet for a fresh set of problems with the same settings.
The seed code: print the same sheet again
Every worksheet has a Seed code, shown in the tool and printed in the corner of the sheet. The problems are drawn from a pseudo-random sequence that starts from that code. With the same seed code and the same settings, you get exactly the same problems in the same order, on any computer. That is handy when:
- you want a second copy next week, or the answer key of a sheet you already handed out;
- several teachers or parents want the same exercise for a group;
- a student redoes a sheet to beat their own score.
To reuse a sheet, type its code in the Seed code field. Codes are not case-sensitive. Changing any setting (a range, the operations or the number of problems) produces a different sheet, even with the same code, so note the settings too.
What the options do
No negative results only affects subtraction: the first number is always at least as large as the second, so every answer is 0 or more. This is what most primary-school curricula expect before negative numbers are taught. If the first-number range can never reach the smallest second number (for example 1 to 4 minus 5 to 9), the tool explains the problem instead of producing a sheet.
Allow remainders in division: when it is off, every division is exact. The tool picks a divisor from the second range and a quotient so that the dividend stays inside the first range, for example 56 ÷ 7 = 8. When it is on, the dividend is any number in the first range, and answers such as 23 ÷ 4 = 5 R 3 appear in the answer key. A divisor of 0 is never used.
Stacked (column form) lines the numbers up on the right, with the operator on the left of the second number and a rule underneath, like standard written algorithms.
Tips for useful practice sheets
- Start narrow and widen gradually: 0–10 plus 0–10 before 10–99 plus 10–99.
- For times-table fluency, use Multiplication only with 2–12 in both ranges and a short sheet timed at two or three minutes.
- For division facts, turn remainders off and use 1–100 for the first number and 2–10 for the divisor.
- Mixed sheets with all four operations are a good weekly review once each operation has been practised on its own.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an answer key?
Yes. The PDF and the printout always include an Answer key page after the problems, with the same numbering. You can also tick Show the answer key to check answers on screen.
How do I get the same worksheet again?
Enter the same Seed code and keep the same settings. The problems are regenerated identically, answer key included.
Why can't I get only exact divisions with my ranges?
An exact division needs a dividend in the first range that is a multiple of a divisor in the second range. If none exists (for example 13 to 13 divided by 2), the tool asks you to widen the first-number range or tick Allow remainders in division.
Can I use decimals, fractions or negative numbers?
No. The tool makes whole-number worksheets with ranges from 0 to 9,999. Negative answers only appear in subtraction when No negative results is unticked.
Are problems repeated?
The tool tries to avoid repeating the same problem on one sheet. With very small ranges and many problems some repeats are unavoidable.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. The problems, the PDF and the printout are created in your browser.
