Delete PDF Pages
Delete pages from a PDF in your browser. Click the thumbnails or type ranges like 2, 5-7, then download the new PDF. Nothing is uploaded.
Type pages and ranges, or click the thumbnails below. Shift-click selects a run of pages.
How to delete pages from a PDF
- Drop a PDF file on the drop zone, or click it to choose one. The tool shows the file name, its number of pages and its size, then a thumbnail of every page.
- Mark the pages you want to remove, in either of two ways:
- click their thumbnails under Pages. Marked pages turn red and fade. Hold Shift while clicking to mark a whole run of pages at once. Select all, Select none and Invert selection speed things up;
- or type them in Pages to delete, for example
2, 5-7, 12-. The thumbnails follow what you type. - Check the line below the field: it tells you how many pages will be deleted and how many will be kept.
- Click Delete pages, then Download. The new file is named after the original, for example
report_pages-removed.pdf.
Typing pages and ranges
The Pages to delete field accepts single pages and ranges separated by commas. 4 is one page, 2-6 is a range, 8- runs from page 8 to the end of the document and -3 covers pages 1 to 3. The order you type them in doesn’t matter, and a page listed twice is simply deleted once.
When an entry can’t be used, the tool says why instead of guessing: a letter or a typo, a page 0, a range written backwards such as 7-4, or a page beyond the end of the document (the message tells you the last page). A PDF must keep at least one page, so the tool also refuses to delete every page.
Invert selection is handy when it’s easier to say what you want to keep: mark the pages to keep, invert, and every other page is marked for deletion.
What happens to the remaining pages
The pages you keep are copied into a new PDF exactly as they were, in their original order. They are not rasterized or recompressed: text remains searchable and selectable, images keep their resolution, and links and comments on those pages come along.
Because the tool builds a fresh document instead of just hiding pages, the deleted pages are really gone from the new file, along with the images and fonts that only they used. That usually makes the file smaller, and it matters when you remove a page for confidentiality reasons. The document outline (bookmarks) and interactive form fields are not carried over to the new file.
Your original file is never changed. If you delete the wrong page, just click the thumbnails again and create a new version.
Privacy
Everything happens in your browser: the PDF is opened, previewed and rewritten on your device, and the result is saved straight to your computer or phone. No page, thumbnail or file name is sent anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
How do I remove a single page from a PDF?
Click its thumbnail (or type its number in Pages to delete), click Delete pages, then Download.
Can I delete several pages that aren't next to each other?
Yes. Click each page, or type them separated by commas, such as 1, 4, 9-11. All of them are removed in one step.
Why can't I delete all the pages?
A PDF with no page isn’t a valid document. Keep at least one page, or simply delete the file itself.
Are deleted pages really removed from the file?
Yes. The new PDF is built only from the pages you keep, so the removed pages and the resources used only by them are not in it.
Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
No. The tool tells you when a file is encrypted or protected. Open it with its password in a PDF reader, remove the protection if you’re allowed to, and try again.
