Add Watermark to Image
Add a text or logo watermark to your photos in batch, with position, tiling, opacity, angle and size, directly in your browser without uploading them.
How to add a watermark to your images
- Drop the images to protect on the first drop zone, or click it to choose them. You can add as many as you like: the same watermark is applied to all of them.
- Under Watermark, choose Text or Logo image. For text, type it in Watermark text (for example “© Jane Smith 2026”), then choose the Font, the Color, and whether it’s Bold and has a Shadow. For a logo, drop it on the second drop zone. A PNG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result.
- Pick a Position on the 3 × 3 grid (corners, edges or center), or Tiled (repeat over the whole image).
- Adjust the Opacity, the Angle, the Size (share of image width) and the Margin from the edges. In tiled mode, Spacing between tiles sets the gap between copies.
- Check the Preview of the first image, choose the Output format and Quality, then click Add watermark. Download the files one by one or with Download all.
How the size and position are calculated
The watermark is sized relative to each picture, not in fixed pixels. With a size of 30 %, the watermark is 30 % as wide as the image, whether the photo is 800 or 6000 pixels wide, so a batch of mixed sizes looks consistent. The margin is a percentage of the image’s shorter side, so it stays proportionate in portrait and landscape photos.
When the watermark is rotated, its bounding box is used for the placement: a tilted logo in the bottom-right corner still ends exactly at the margin, without being cut off. If a watermark would be larger than the picture, it’s reduced to fit. In tiled mode, copies are laid out in staggered rows, like bricks, from edge to edge; each copy is rotated around its own center.
A text watermark is drawn once in high resolution, then scaled onto each picture, so it stays sharp even on very large photos.
Choosing effective watermark settings
- Corner watermark (bottom right, 20–30 % width, 40–60 % opacity): discreet, ideal for portfolios and social media. It can be cropped out, however.
- Tiled watermark (−30° angle, 25–40 % opacity): much harder to remove, suitable for proofs sent to clients or previews of photos for sale.
- A white text with a Shadow remains readable on both light and dark areas.
- For logos, use a version with a transparent background; a logo on a white rectangle hides part of the picture.
Watermarks discourage reuse and credit your work, but no visible watermark is impossible to remove. For important images, also keep your originals and their metadata.
Fonts
The Font list offers Liberation Sans, a font served with this tool so it looks the same on every device, and common system fonts such as Arial, Georgia, Impact or Courier New. System fonts are drawn only if they’re installed on your device; otherwise a similar font replaces them. No font is downloaded from an external service.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add the same watermark to several photos at once?
Yes. Drop all your photos in the first drop zone, set the watermark once and click Add watermark: every image is processed with the same settings.
How do I make a transparent watermark?
Lower the Opacity slider. Around 30–50 % is visible without hiding the photo. The logo’s own transparency is kept as well.
Does adding a watermark reduce photo quality?
The watermark is painted onto the full-resolution image. Only the final encoding can lose a little detail when saving as JPG or WebP; use a high Quality or PNG to avoid it.
Why does my watermark look smaller on some photos?
The size is a share of each image’s width. On a very tall portrait photo, the watermark is narrower than on a panorama of the same height. Increase Size (share of image width) if needed.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The pictures and the logo are processed in your browser and never leave your device.
