How to resize images for social media
- Drop one or more images on the drop zone, or click it to choose them.
- Under Target sizes, tick every format you need. They are grouped by platform: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, YouTube and Pinterest.
- Choose the Fit: - Crop to fill fills the whole frame and trims what doesn’t fit. - Fit, color background shows the whole picture on a plain Background color. - Fit, blurred background shows the whole picture over a blurred, enlarged copy of itself, the look used by stories and video players.
- With Crop to fill, click or drag on the photo under Focal point to mark what must stay visible, such as a face or a product. Dashed frames show what each size keeps, and the Previews update live. With several photos, pick one in the Photo list: each photo keeps its own focal point.
- Choose the Output format (JPG, PNG or WebP) and the Quality, then click Resize images.
- Results are grouped by size. Download a single file, one size with Download this size (ZIP), or everything with Download all (ZIP), which puts each size in its own folder.

| Story / Reel 9:16 | 1080 × 1920 | |

| YouTube | Channel banner | 2560 × 1440 |
| Pin 2:3 | 1000 × 1500 |
These are the sizes the platforms recommended in 2026. They change from time to time, and each app may crop differently on phones and computers, so check the platform’s help pages before an important campaign. Profile pictures are not listed: use a round crop tool for those.
Crop, fit or blur?
Crop to fill gives the most professional result when the subject is clearly placed: nothing but your picture fills the frame. Its cost is losing the edges; the focal point decides which edges go. A landscape photo turned into a 9:16 story keeps only a narrow vertical slice, so place the focal point carefully.
Fit keeps every pixel of the original. It suits screenshots, infographics, text-heavy images and group photos where nothing can be cut. The blurred background avoids the “letterbox” bars and looks natural; a plain color matches a brand palette.
Safe zones matter too. YouTube’s channel banner is shown in full only on TVs: on computers and phones only the center (about 1546 × 423 px) is visible, so keep text and logos there. Story formats are partly covered by the app’s buttons at the top and bottom.
Quality tips
- Start from the largest photo you have. When a source is smaller than the target, the result is upscaled and marked “upscaled” in the list; it will look soft.
- JPG at 85–90 % is the usual choice for photos. PNG suits graphics with text and flat colors.
- Platforms recompress uploads, so exporting at the exact recommended size avoids a second, blurrier resize on their side.
Everything runs in your browser: images are never uploaded, and the output files contain no EXIF metadata.
Frequently asked questions
What size is a YouTube thumbnail?
1280 × 720 pixels (16:9). Tick Video thumbnail under YouTube and choose JPG.
What is the best Instagram post size in 2026?
1080 × 1350 px (4:5 portrait) takes the most space in the feed. 1080 × 1080 remains fine for square posts, and stories and Reels use 1080 × 1920.
Can I resize one photo to several platforms at once?
Yes. Tick all the sizes you need, click Resize images, then use Download all (ZIP) to get every version, sorted in one folder per size.
How do I keep a face from being cut off?
Choose Crop to fill and click the face on the photo under Focal point. Every size is then cropped around that point, as far as the photo’s edges allow.
Why does my banner look cropped on my phone?
Banners such as YouTube’s or LinkedIn’s are shown with different crops on each device. Keep important content near the center and check the result on the platform after uploading.
